Would you bet your money that they will? Celta Vigo defender Jonny believes his side have every chance of springing a surprise in Sunday's La Liga encounter with Real Madrid.
Madrid beat Celta 3-0 at the Santiago Bernabeu earlier this season,
but they were beaten 2-0 at the Balaidos in 2013-14 and Jonny has set
his sights on another shock result this weekend.
"We’ll have to play with more concentration than ever, with an
eagerness to win and be at 200 per cent," Jonny was quoted as saying by AS.
"When you make an error, Real Madrid will hit you on the
counterattack. But once we have the ball, we can hurt them. We are going
to go after them
"We have a dream of reaching the European places and hopefully we can
have a good match. Balaidos is a fortress and we have enjoyed some
great games at home.
Madrid will be without a number of first-team regulars due to injury,
yet Jonny feels the absence of players such as Luka Modric and Gareth
Bale will not make any difference.
"You always want to play against the best, but the player who comes
in will do just as well or even better. All of their players are of a
high level.
"They carry a heavy burden of many matches, especially high-intensity matches like against Atletico."
