The Uruguay star scored twice after Neymar had opened the scoring to give the Blaugrana a commanding first-leg lead in the Champions League quarter-finals ahead of next week's Camp Nou return.
The former Liverpool man turned on the style for both of his goals but admits he was left with little alternative given the situation he was faced with on both occasions.
"A striker is always looking for goals and the two moves came off for me," he is quoted as saying by AS.
"I had to nutmeg Luiz twice because there was nothing else I could do.
"We were focused from the first minute. We knew we had to come out with a lot of intensity.
"In football you never know what’s going to happen. They have so much quality and we need to be aware that this isn’t over. It’ll be a good game."
Barca's second leg against PSG takes place on Tueday at 20:45CET.
