Hehe, you agree? Cesc Fabregas hailed Jose Mourinho's tactical nous to see Chelsea's to a hard-fought 1-0 win over Manchester United.
Eden Hazard's first-half winner opened up a 10-point gap at the top of
the Premier League table, meaning victories over Arsenal and Leicester
in their next two games will see the Blues crowned champions.
Chelsea had just 29 per cent possession during the game and Fabregas
credited Mourinho and the decision to deploy centre-back Kurt Zouma in
midfield against Marouane Fellaini.
"We had to put someone on
Marouane Fellaini, especially for the long balls, so yes our style
changed," Fabregas told the club's official website. "I thought Zouma
did extremely well.
"His future is as a centre-back but he can
do the job very well in central midfield when needed. He played very
well against Spurs in the final of the Capital One Cup, against West Ham
and again this weekend.
"If I played there normally I would
struggle a bit more to deal with long balls and the physical aspect of
the game. That's why Mourinho is who he is and has won what he has won.
The plan worked very well.
"When you win it's always a job well
done, especially against Manchester United. We know we couldn't afford
to lose because they are behind us and we didn't want to give them
hope."
Next up for Chelsea is a trip to the Emirates Stadium to
faced second-placed Arsenal, with victory meaning they could claim the
title three days later against Leicester City.
He added: "We
are level on games now, we are 10 points in front and we don't want to
give [Arsenal] hope to put pressure on us. We know the Emirates is
always a difficult place to go.
"We just want to win [the
title]. The sooner, the better. We want to give satisfaction to the
supporters. It's been five years for them; for me it's been 27 years so
I'd love to win it as soon as possible."
