Laurent Blanc believes Paris Saint-Germain's handling of Edinson Cavani and Ezequiel Lavezzi has been proven right following their performances against Lille on Saturday.
The attacking duo were banned and fined by the club as punishment for returning late following the winter break, with their futures at Parc des Princes thrown into doubt.
However, having maintained their place in Blanc's plans for most of
2015, the former Napoli stars were ruthless as PSG thrashed Lille 6-1,
with Lavezzi scoring a hat-trick and Cavani finding the net twice.
And Blanc says he has been vindicated in his management of the players following their performances.
"[Lavezzi] is a boy who has had a lot of chances in matches, [but]
he's converted very few. And today, he scored a hat-trick," he told
reporters.
"It proves that we must always believe in these players, to try to
give them the chance to prove they can score goals, set them up.
"The match tonight proved us right because he and Cavani scored
goals. It's good for their morale and ours, too, in the final stretch of
the championship."
