Valencia centre-back Shkrodan Mustafi has likened the debate over the respective powers of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi to comparing a Ferrari and Lamborghini.
The Germany international has come up against both players since
joining the club from Sampdoria in the summer and says there is minimal
difference between the pair.
"It's like comparing a Ferrari and a Lamborghini," he told Kicker. "Cristiano dismantles you if you give him just a little bit of space, and Messi creates a chance with even less space.
"The Clasico on Sunday is neck-and-neck - form doesn't matter and there's no favourite."
Mustafi, 22, also revealed his delight with his first season in
Spain, with the €8 million man now targeting an international recall
after being part of Joachim Low's World Cup-winning squad last summer.
"My transfer from Sampdoria to Valencia was well-planned out," the 22-year-old added. "I came to Spain with conviction.
"I'm trying to perform at my best when possible and if I get an
invitation to the Germany national team then that would be a great
bonus."
Mustafi has helped Valencia overtake La Liga champions Atletico
Madrid in the table as they sit third in Spain's top flight behind Real
Madrid and Barcelona with 11 games remaining.
