Bellerin will be offered new Arsenal deal, reveals Wenger

Arsenal are set to offer Hector Bellerin a new contract in the near future, Arsene Wenger has confirmed.

Reports on Thursday suggested the 19-year-old was ready to sign a new four-year deal with the Gunners, having impressed since being given a sustained run in the starting XI in the absence of the injured Mathieu Debuchy.

Bellerin's rise has sparked further speculation over the future of Carl Jenkinson, currently on loan at West Ham, but Wenger insists tying the Spaniard down for the long-term will have no bearing on the 23-year-old's prospects with the Gunners.

When asked if Arsenal plan to extend Bellerin's contract with the club, the Frenchman replied: "Yes. Will it impact on Carl Jenkinson? In my head, no."

Bellerin has made 17 appearances in all competitions for Arsenal this season, scoring his first senior goal in last month's 5-0 rout of Aston Villa.
