Gareth Bale has hailed Real Madrid signing Martin Odegaard as a "great talent" in the wake of the Norway international's first training session with the Champions League holders.
The
16-year-old recently completed his deal from Stromsgodset to Madrid,
snubbing interest from Bayern Munich, Liverpool and Arsenal in the
process.
Odegaard took to the training pitch at the club's
Valdebebas complex for the first time since joining the club on Thursday
and he did not waste any time in impressing Bale.
"Nice to have
Martin Odegaard join us at training today, top talent and good guy," the
former Spurs attacker said on his official Twitter account.
The attacking midfielder will alternately train with the first team and
Castilla for the remainder of the 2014-15 campaign, but Madrid director
Emilio Butragueno said upon the youngster's unveiling that Odegaard is
at head coach Carlo Ancelotti's availability if he needs him.
