Strootman has now underlined his commitment to Roma, who are in the hunt for the title this season, insisting he is not in discussions with any club over a January exit.
"I signed for five years here," he told Sky Italia.
"I’ve only played for six or seven months [due to injury]. I want to play, help the team, this is important to me. I am not talking to other teams."
Second-placed Roma, who trail Serie A leaders Juventus by one point, face third-placed Lazio at the weekend and Strootman has outlined the threat posed by Stefano Pioli's side.
He added: "We are stronger than last season because we have brought in great players and are improving every day. Lazio have improved a lot too, so it will be a tough game."
