I want to be as good as Ronaldo for Inter Milan, says Podolski

Lukas Podolski has voiced his delight with his transfer to Inter and hopes to emulate former stars such as Ronaldo and Javier Zanetti as well as a number of compatriots.

The Germany international has left Arsenal for the Serie A outfit on a six-month loan deal and the 29-year-old is determined to make a name for himself at his new club.

"Now it's official: I'm part of the glorious world-famous club Inter," Podolski wrote on his official Facebook page.

"I'm greatful [sic] for the confidence the club has in me and will pay it back with strong performances.

"I hope to rank among club legends like Ronaldo, Zanetti, [Jurgen] Klinsmann, [Andreas] Brehme, [Lothar] Matthaus and many others one day.

"I want to give a special thanks to coach Roberto Mancini who made a big effort for me to come to Inter, he made it an easy decision for me also sports director Piero Ausilio who made this transfer happen."

Podolski could make his official debut for Inter in Tuesday's Serie A game away against Juventus.
