Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has described his "great affection" for Real Madrid midfielder Isco.
The
pair worked together at Malaga before the Chilean moved to England in
2013 and the midfielder subsequently joined Real Madrid, where he is now
establishing himself after a difficult first season.
However, City's abandonment of their pursuit of Madrid target Marco Reus could open up the possibility of a reunion with Isco and Pellegrini remains in admiration of the youngster.
"I have great affection for him," the City boss told AS.
"I
was lucky enough to guide him during his passage to La Liga. He has to
continue progressing because of his youth and because of the quality he
has.
"He chose Real Madrid as his destination and I am happy each time that I see him."
Isco has scored two goals and provided five assists in 16 appearances for Madrid in La Liga this season.
