Chelsea preserved their place at the top of the table after a 1-1 draw with Manchester City.

Frank Lampard's return to Stamford Bridge nay have grabbed the pre-match headlines, but it was his former employers who took the lead after Eden Hazard's volley beautifully assisted Loic Remy to open the scoring.

However, the lead lasted just a few minutes as Thibaut Courtois' blunder allowed David Silva to peg Jose Mourinho's men back just before half time.

Lampard was introduced late into the second half as Manuel Pellegrini's men chased a late winner, however it was honours even at full time.
