Suarez should not be played on the right, says Capello

Thegoalmac understands that according to former Real Madrid boss Fabio Capello, Luis Suarez should not be played out wide for Barcelona, who thinks his effectiveness is stifled by not being in the centre for his team.

I don't understand what Mr Capello is talking about, because Suarez has been playing more centrally since the Apoel game in the champions league, I think he is still rusty because he should have had more goals than he already has for Barca if he was clinical enough. Continue to read what Capello said and tell us what you think.

Suarez has only scored twice in 770 minutes of competitive football this season since making his debut against Real Madrid in October's Clasico after his four-month biting ban had been honoured.

"His coach knows more than us, but the wing is not the best place for Suarez," the iconic Italian trainer told Onda Cero. "He's a goalscorer and you lose 50 per cent of that on the wing.

"You need to be in the centre, not on the wing. Luis Suarez is one of the best strikers in the world and I think that Luis Enrique is trying to find a tactical solution to this.

"While I think this Barcelona team has the same desire to hoard the ball as before, they do not have the same speed as they used to."

Barca were drawn against Manchester City in the last 16 of the Champions League on Monday and - although many consider the Catalans to have the short straw with the tie - Capello mused that the English champions will not pose a problem.

"I do not think Man City will be a difficult opponent for Barcelona," he added. "City did not do well in qualifying because they are missing something - they lack speed and they lack desire.

"At this point, they would be easy opponents for Barca. But, in February we'll see because they will have [injured forward] Sergio Aguero back. He's one of the best players in world football."
