Thegoalmac has learned that Pavel Nedved is optimistic about Juventus' chances of reaching the quarter-finals of the Champions League after they were paired with Borussia Dortmund during Monday's draw for the round of 16.
The Bianconeri director feels they would have had little chance had they
been drawn with Bayern Munich or Real Madrid, but thinks the tie with
BVB will prove to be a balanced one.
"We
have to be very careful because Dortmund have young, talented players.
It could have been worse because there was still Bayern and Madrid when
Borussia's name came out. It will be a very even tie," Nedved told the
official Uefa website.
"There are a few teams who are almost impossible to compete with, so we are happy to have a side against whom we have a chance.
"I'm
a big fan of Jurgen Klopp and I'm curious to see our level in Europe.
The games against Dortmund will give us a clear indication of that."
Dortmund
beat Juventus 3-1 in the final the last time they won the competition
in 1997, with two goals from Karl-Heinz Riedle and one from substitute
Lars Ricken earning the German side victory.
