I didn't want to score goal by all means, says Suarez

Thegoalmac has learned that Barcelona star Luis Suarez has insisted that his sole focus is the team's fortunes, not his goal tally for the season after he scored his first La Liga goal.

"I kissed my fingers for my wife and my two children who were at home," Suarez said of his goal celebration to reporters after the match.

"The draw against Getafe annoyed us. We should be fighting for the title. Scoring is always important but with everyone's support, we knew that the joy was coming.

"I am a striker and I have to score goals but I'm helping the team win. So I'm not obsessed with it. The team winning is most important and that's been achieved.

"You win by creating clear chances. On a personal level, I was hurt but I am also very happy to have come here and signed for Barca. We have to reverse the situation."

Barca now sit just one point behind Real Madrid but have played a game more than their arch rivals.
