Puskas wrote Real Madrid's History, says Zinedine Zidane

Thegoalmac can reveal that Zinedine Zidane says Ferenc Puskas "wrote the history" of Real Madrid.

Puskas excelled for Real Madrid in a team that also included legends Gento and Alfredo Di Stefano and won three European Cup titles during his time at the Santiago Bernabeu.

I didn't watch legend Puskas play, but from the little I have heard of him, he was really special, the prove to that is the fact that the best goal award given to players every year is named after him, Puskas award. Continue for what Zidane said.
"His place is here at Madrid," Zidane told repoters "Even though I haven’t really known him, there are pictures, as there are for Di Stefano.

"They’re men who wrote pages of Real Madrid’s history. Of this prestigious club where the best players have played, each and every one of them in their prime."

Like Zidane, Puskas dominated a European Cup final at Glasgow's Hampden Park in a Real Madrid victory. Zidane scored an exquisite volley there against Bayer Leverkusen in 2002 and it was Puskas's four goals, along with Di Stefano's hat-trick, that gave Madrid a historic 7-3 victory in Scotland over Eintracht Frankfurt in 1960.

Puskas was also an international legend for Hungary, leading the 'Mighty Magyars' to 1952 Olympic glory and to the 1954 World Cup final before defecting to the west.
