Thegoalmac can reveal that Lionel Messi would score even more goals if he was to move to the Premier League, according to Barcelona team-mate Xavi.
This has been a debate that has been going on among football fans for some years now, whether Messi would be able to score in Enlgand how he has been scoring in Spain. For you personally, do you think he will score even more in England or not? Continue for what Xavi said.
"I think he'd be even better in the Premier League because it is not so
defensive," the 34-year-old told BBC Sport. "When defending against
Barcelona, they [English clubs] play on a 1 v 1 basis, defending with
passion, a lot of energy. But Leo would find more spaces than in La
Liga."
Xavi also had words of praise for Manchester United boss
Louis van Gaal, the man who gave him the chance to make his Barcelona
breakthrough and succeed Pep Guardiola at the heart of midfield in 1998.
"I think that Louis van Gaal is an extraordinary coach," he added. "He
works very well in the tactical and technical side of the game. He is
very capable of succeeding with a great challenge.
"I think
Manchester United should be patient with him so he can achieve the goal
with his system and be able to transmit his coaching values."
