Thegoalmac can reveal that Roberto Mancini has suggested he could return to coach Inter in the near future.
The coach won three consecutive Serie A titles, two Coppa Italia and
two Supercoppa Italiana during his spell at the Milan giants before his
spells at Manchester City and Galatasaray.
"I'm missing the work, but rest does not hurt," he told MilanInter TV. "Do I want to get back into it? Surely next season, so we'll see this year.
"I'm glad that Inter fans have a good memory of my time at the club, we won a lot together and it was an amazing experience.
"Next year, though, I don't know what will happen. If I were to be
called up by Inter in the summer, I do not know, it's hard to say now,
but the team have a good coach.
"It's hard to judge from the outside, but I think Inter have a good
team and I believe that they can fight for the Champions League. They
are not very far away from third place."
Mancini was asked if he felt his former assistant coach Sinisa
Mihajlovic, currently coaching Sampdoria, would be suitable for the
role.
"Mihajlovic has now gained a lot of experience and is doing very well
at Sampdoria," he replied. "I think he is quite ready for Inter.
"Beyond that, I think that the fans should always be close to the
team, Inter fans are very important and they can help in times of
trouble. They must have confidence."
