Thegoalmac can reveal that Florentino Perez says Cristiano Ronaldo is a worthy heir to Real Madrid legend Alfredo Di Stefano.
Di Stefano scored 305 goals for the capital club and led them to five consecutive European Cup titles between 1955 and 1960.
Ronaldo is just 31 goals behind Di Stefano’s Real Madrid total, and
just 49 shy of the club’s leading scorer Raul, who bagged 323 for Los
Blancos.
Do you agree with Mr Perez? Continue for what he said.
“We have an excellent coach [in Carlo Ancelotti] and [in Ronaldo] a
worthy heir to Di Stefano, who has just Ballon d’Or for the second time
and is already legend in Madrid,” club president Perez was quoted as
saying by AS.
Madrid sit top of the Liga table and have already secured
qualification for the knockout stage of the
Champions League with two
matchdays to go, and Butragueno believes the future looks bright for
Carlo Ancelotti's men.
“This team never gives up," he stated. "We believe we are working towards winning our [eleventh Champions League].
"We have reinforced the team with some of the best players in the world. We have already won the European Super Cup.”
Madrid have scored 37 goals in 10 games this season, which is their joint-best ever record at this stage of a La Liga campaign.
