Thegoalmac can reveal that Wolfsburg striker Nicklas Bendtner has hit out at Arsenal over their decision not to allow him to leave in the summer of 2013.

"It was a terrible situation. My last year at Arsenal was a waste of time," Bendtner was quoted as saying by Tipsbladet.

"It was worthless that Arsenal did not allow me to leave.
"A club like Arsenal could easily have found someone else to play my role.

"They would have had no trouble finding a player who could do what they wanted me to do."
Bendtner eventually left Arsenal after all in the summer of 2014, joining Wolfsburg on a free transfer.

He has so far netted two goals in 10 appearances for the Bundesliga outfit.
