Thegoalmac understands that Bayern Munich coach Pep Guardiola is confident that Bastian Schweinsteiger will soon be available for selection again after a spell on the sidelines due to injury.
The 30-year-old has not made a competitive appearance since the World
Cup because of a knee problem picked up during the pre-season tour of
America.
However, Guardiola believes the Germany international will soon be
able to resume squad training and take the next step in his recovery.
"The end of the recovery process is getting nearer. I think he will
soon be able to train with the team again," Guardiola said at a press
conference.
"It depends on the physio and the doctor when exactly he can resume
squad training. He will be able to make his comeback when he no longer
feels pain."
The midfielder prematurely ended an individual training session on
Tuesday for unknown reasons, but he's optimistic that he will soon be
back in action.
"My situation is improving," Schweinsteiger told TZ. "I'm trying to increase the workload and intensity."
