Ribery Should be Banned if he refuses to play For France, says Platini

Thegoalmac can reveal that Uefa president and France legend Michel Platini is standing by his assertion that Franck Ribery should be banned if he refuses to represent France.

Sincerely i don't understand what Mr Michel means with all this assertions of Ribery being banned an all, don't players now have the right to retire again?

Its simply ridiculous to ban a player simply because he said he has retired from playing for his country, forcing him to play is simply infringing on his right as a person, what do you think guys?
Continue for what Mr Platini said.
"In terms of Ribery, I simply remembered Uefa's rules," Platini explained in an interview with beIn Sports. "Imagine if tomorrow [France's] Raphael Varane, Karim Benzema and others say that they will not come and that they do not care about the national team?

"What would we do? This is the right regulation."
Despite Ribery's retirement, Platini believes that France have every chance of victory when the nation hosts the next European Championship, in two years' time.

The hosts appeared in disarray after infamous incidents of player ill-discipline at World Cup 2010 and Euro 2012 but new boss Didier Deschamps led Les Bleus to the quarter-finals of Brazil 2014, an achievement that has renewed Platini's faith in the team.

"Deschamps has given hope to the French people," the Juventus icon enthused. "He has improved the image of this team.

"Of course, he is fortunate to have two starlets with him: [Real Madrid defender] Varane and [Juventus midfielder] Pogba.
"And now they all have two years to prepare for the Euros."
