Real Madrid Don't respect their legends, says Mendieta

Thegoalmac can reveal that Former Barcelona midfielder Gaizka Mendieta said that Real Madrid fans turn on their long-serving players and fears that Iker Casillas could end up with the same fate as Raul, Guti and Fernando Morientes who were forced out of Santiago Bernabeu.

That is one the differences between Barca and Madrid,Barca most times respects their legends no matter what, but that is not usually the case with Madrid as some of their legends are forced to leave the club and retire else where, you agree?

And if you have got a different opinion on this share with us. Continue to see what Mr Mendieta said.

"Unfortunately that is Madrid," Mendieta told reporters "It happened with Raul, Guti and Morientes, now it is happening with Casillas.

"When you have been at the club so long you are going to have people that love you and people that hate you. You are going to have half of the media that likes you, part of the media that dislikes you and want you out of the club.

"So every mistake it's going to be huge. It is not good for the club when you are under the spotlight and under huge pressure."

Ahead of the first Clasico of the season, however, Mendieta believes that Carlo Ancelotti is the right man to be in charge of a potentially debilitating situation.

"I wouldn't say it's an issue, every manger would like to have two goalkeepers who are capable to perform," he said.

"Ancelotti is the perfect manager for this situation because he is very calm and clever in how he speaks to the players and makes them believe he is important.

"Ancelotti is clear that Casillas is his No.1 and that is what the player needs to know."
