This is really funny though as Thegoalmac can reveal that a Peruvian referee who awarded a controversial late winner deep into
stoppage time was later punched by a member of the losing club's
staff, video footage has shown.
Continue for more details, and how many months ban or years do you think the staff should get?
Romel Lopez allowed Sporting
Cristal to take a 96th-minute free-kick with the scores tied at 2-2 in
their Primera Division trip to San Simon, despite there having been only
five minutes of stoppages signalled. Defender Renzo Revoredo netting
from the resulting set-piece to the disgust of the home side.
Lopez
was then surrounded by disgruntled San Simon coaching staff and players
after blowing the final whistle to signal Sporting's 3-2 victory,
leading police with riot shields to form a barrier between the
refereeing team and the irate protestors.
But one sneaky staff
member managed to work his way behind the cordon before landing a punch
on the referee, immediately sprinting to safety after the hefty blow had
caught Lopez on the left of his head.
