 “Neymar is just a spectacular player,” Robinho told reporters in Singapore.
“I knew he was going to be hungry for goals today. I told him he was going to score three goals, but he scored four!

And he even missed a couple of chances that he would not normally, so it could even have been more. He decided the game for us.”

The 30-year-old, now back at Santos once again for a second loan spell from AC Milan, went on to say that Japan were a tough opponent and that he and Brazil are focused on their preparations for World Cup 2018.

"It was a difficult game, people find that Japan are weak but they are not. They are a strong team. They run very hard and attack,” he said after Brazil claimed their fourth consecutive victory since coach Dunga’s arrival.

“We're improving. What we want is to win the World Cup in Russia, but there is a long way ahead with many important competitions to play. Right now the squad are just trying to make the most of our opportunities.”

Brazil continue their preparations next month when the Gillette Brasil Global Tour resumes with matches against Turkey and Austria.
