For me its a bit strange though, but Atletico didn't have standout players apart from Diego Costa through out the season, their title winning success was down to a team effort than just individual standouts, maybe that played a role in none of their players not receiving a single award, but its still up for debate though, what do you think?Continue for what Mr Cerezo said.
"I'm surprised Real Madrid received more prizes than Atletico, but there is a jury and we respect their decision," he told reporters after the event.
Defender Emiliano Insua also expressed his shock at Atleti's lack of success on the night.
"It is a bit unusual to see that not one Atletico player won an award at the ceremony," he said afterwards.
"It’s strange, especially considering what the team achieved last season – the league title, a Champions League final… but they are the official awards and we have got to accept it."
Atletico have made a slower start to their Liga campaign in 2014-15 and although they sit just two points behind leaders Barcelona after nine games, Cerezo insists they cannot afford to concede any more ground in the title race.
He added: "We are going to try to fight throughout the season. It will be difficult, but anything else will leave us by the wayside."
