Hmmmm,Vicente del Bosque has defended Iker Casillas's blunder as his side fell to a 2-1 defeat to Slovakia on Thursday, insisting he was not at fault for either of the goals,Thegoalmac can reveal.
I didn't watch the match, but i saw the highlights today, and i think he was at fault for the first goal and partially at fault for the second as his timing was poor.what do you guys think?Continue to see what Del Bosque said.
"Casillas had saved good chances from Slovakia prior to the first
goal," he told reporters. "I didn't see it clearly but the ball moved
strangely and tricked Iker."
The defeat continues Spain's troubled 2014, having been dumped out of
the World Cup group stage this summer, and their coach was left to
lament being caught on the break by Slovakia.
“I didn’t expect this result, it’s unexpected," Del Bosque added. "We pressed hard but we haven’t had a great game.
“We should've scored more goals but their counterattack was lethal to us. But this is football.
"I don't have any complaints against my players. We had patience but we weren’t successful and their goalkeeper was outstanding.
"We deserved a draw at the very least though, I think. We're not necessarily in a negative run of form."
Diego Costa made his sixth cap for Spain, after ditching Brazil as his
nationality of choice last season. but the Chelsea striker remains
without a goal for la Roja, though his coach refused to criticise him.
"Costa’s playing with a lot of enthusiasm and we are happy with his
performances for us," he added. "It was the whole team that struggled,
not just him. No one likes to lose."
