Barcelona president Bartomeu to stand for re-election

Thegoalmac can reveal that Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu has confirmed he plans to stand for re-election when his current terms comes to an end.

For me he has done by far better than former president Sandro Rossell sporting wise since he took over, but if Juan Laporta contests against him,i seriously doubt he will win.

Barca fans what do you guys think, you want him to get re-elected?Continue for he said.

"I'm determined to complete my current mandate until 30 June 2016 and to stand again in the next election," he told an assembly for club members.

"There has been criticism. We have listened and took note. I also want to emphasise that we have felt the trust of thousands of our members.”

The club have endured a rocky period before and during his presidency, which Bartomeu said had been a difficult time for the Catalans.

"The 2013-2014 season, for various reasons, was one of the hardest in many years,” he added, referring to the untimely death of former coach Tito Vilanova, Rosell’s departure, a Fifa sanction on future transfers and a liability action brought against former president Joan Laporta over financial mismanagement.

But 2014-15 has started brightly for Barca, who currently sit top of the Spanish league - two points clear of second-placed Valencia - with six wins and a draw under new coach Luis Enrique.
