AC Milan CEO Adriano Galliani has confirmed his side want to sign Chelsea duo Fernando Torres and Marco van Ginkel.Continue....
The Serie A club are in the market for attacking reinforcements following Mario Balotelli's £16 million move to Liverpool.
Jose Mourinho insists he wants to keep Torres at Stamford Bridge but the 30-year-old has not featured in either of Chelsea's Premier League fixtures this season.
"We
are approaching the final stages of the transfer window. Let's see
whether we can sign a top striker. That's our most important objective
at the moment," Galliani said.
"Torres is definitely a top striker. We will see whether we can sign him or another attacker."
Galliani
is more positive over securing a loan deal for Van Ginkel and reveals
that Milan have made a formal offer for the 21-year-old midfielder.
"Signing Van Ginkel seems a realistic possibility," he said.
"We have submitted an offer to Chelsea. We now await their response but we are fairly optimistic."
Van
Ginkel joined Chelsea from Vitesse last summer but was unable to make
an impact in his first season at Stamford Bridge due to a knee injury
which ruled him out for the majority of the campaign.
