OFFICIAL: Dani Alves completes Juventus move

Dani Alves has completed his move to Juventus from Barcelona after signing a two-year contract with the Serie A champions.

The veteran right-back, 33, leaves Camp Nou on a free transfer after giving the Catalan outfit eight years service following a €30 million move from Sevilla.

It is a transfer that has been mooted for several weeks now, when Barcelona's technical secretary Robert Fernandez said the player "had decided" to depart.

In a statement released that same evening, the player wrote: "I am a privileged, honoured footballer, for whom life has allowed him to wear the shirt of the best club in the world in an incredible decade for the quality of its players and coaches."

And, after arriving in Turin to undertake his medical on Monday, the Brazil international sealed the transfer by committing to a contract until June 30, 2018, with the option of another year added on.

Alves enjoyed a terrific spell with Barca, winning six Primera Division crowns and the Champions League on three occasions, while he has played 93 times for Brazil.

Juve were also chasing the signing of his Blaugrana team-mate Javier Mascherano, butdirector Giuseppe Marotta admitted that the Catalan side will not sell him.
