PHOTOS: Ighalo And Coach Flores Win Barclays Player And Manager Of The Month Award

A very big congrats to our very own star and future African best player award winner, I hope he keeps it up.

Watford duo Quique Flores and Nigerian striker Odion Ighalo have been rewarded for the Hornets' remarkable form in December by winning the Premier League manager and player of the month awards.

Flores' side took 10 points from five fixtures to finish the calendar year, including victories over Norwich, Sunderland and Liverpool.

A major reason why they've been punching above their weight is the form of striker Ighalo, who netted five goals last month.
The Nigerian has been a revelation so far and netted twice against Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool on December 20 to earn the Hornets a stunning 3-0 win.
The 26-year-old bullied Martin Sktrel for the first goal and terrorised the Reds defence alongside his strike partner Troy Deeney.

Some of Europe's biggest clubs have been credited with an interest in Ighalo but he's reaffirmed his commitment to the project at Vicarage Road.

Ighalo is the second Nigeria to win the award. Peter Odemwingie won it with West Brom back in 2012.

A creditable draw at Stamford Bridge followed four wins in a row including the victory at Aston Villa at the end of November, before Watford finished the year with a last-ditch loss at home to Spurs.

They have begun 2016 with back-to-back defeats against Manchester City and Southampton, but still sit in the top half of the Premier League.
