Barcelona 4-0 Real Betis: Suarez steals show on Messi's 500th appearance

Lionel Messi was on target for Barcelona in his 500th appearance for the Catalan giants as they cruised to a 4-0 victory over Real Betis at Camp Nou with Luis Suarez grabbing a double.

The hosts went ahead after 29 minutes when Heiko Westermann put through his own net after Neymar had missed a penalty, given somewhat fortuitously after Messi has clashed with goalkeeper Adnan.

Messi then doubled Barca’s lead just four minutes later, tapping home from close range after a cut-back from Neymar.

Suarez then made the game safe, just 55 seconds into the second half slotting past Adnan after good work from Sergio Busquets before adding a second late on.
