Schweinsteiger and Neuer to miss Germany friendly with Netherlands

Bastian Schweinsteiger and Manuel Neuer are set to miss Germany's friendly with the Netherlands, leading a contingent of eight players that will be unavailable for Joachim Low's side.

The match between the world champions and the Netherlands will go ahead, despite the Germany players involvement in the friendly at the Stade de France on Friday, which was targeted as part of the atrocities that occurred in Paris.

And with the game set to go ahead, the German FA have announced that Schweinsteiger will miss out, along with Neuer and Lukas Podolski who are being rested.

Koln defender Jonas Hector will miss out through injury, as well as Bayern Munich's Jerome Boateng, depleting the team's defensive options.

Schalke youngster Leroy Sane will also be unavailable, as the forward returns to the under-21 team for their match with Austria.
