Liverpool return for Xabi Alonso?

Thegoalmac has learned that Xabi Alonso may be in a line for a return to Liverpool, if a report in Italian website Tuttomercato is to be believed.

It is said that the Spanish veteran will not renew his contract with Bayern Munich, meaning he will become a free agent in the summer, thus prompting the Reds to consider bringing the 33-year-old back to Anfield.

Liverpool, however, could face competition if they are to make a move, with Qatari and MLS sides said to be interested in Alonso's services.
