Germany’s squad spent the night at the Stade de France following Friday’s attacks in Paris.
At least 120 people have been killed in systematic attacks across the French capital, which included two explosions at the Stade de France during Germany’s friendly with next summer’s Euro 2016 hosts.
Contrary to initial reports, Germany’s players remained in the stadium after the 2-0 defeat until they were taken directly to Charles de Gaulle Airport with a police escort on Saturday morning where they boarded a flight.
"I can confirm that the team is boarding the plane to Frankfurt right now,” DFB security spokesman Hendrik Grosse Lefert told SID.
"Everything else will be decided in the course of the day we are glad we were able to organise the departure this morning.”
Germany are due to play Netherlands in Hannover on Tuesday but a decision over whether that game will be played is yet to be made.
