Drogba: Scolari wanted to sell me and buy Adriano

Didier Drogba has revealed Luiz Felipe Scolari wanted to sell him and buy Adriano during his ill-fated spell at Chelsea in 2008-09 - only for Roman Abramovich to block any such move.

The Montreal Impact striker fell out with Scolari after he took charge in the summer of 2008 and scored only three goals for the Blues before his sacking the following February.

In 2011, Scolari admitted he had been interested in signing Adriano - who was suffering from fitness and personal problems and would leave Inter to return to his native Brazil at the end of the same campaign.

But Abramovich communicated to Drogba that he was going nowhere and instead dismissed the World Cup-winning coach, with Drogba going on to score 11 goals in just three months under Guus Hiddink.

"When I left the meeting [with Scolari], the first thing I did was call Mr Abramovich and explain the situation via one of his assistants," Drogba reveals in his new autobiography,Commitment

But the 37-year-old says he was told: "No, you're not going anywhere. Who said you were going?"
