Chelsea have won just three of their 12 league matches since being crowned title winners and languish in 16th place, with Champions League qualification looking increasingly unlikely.
And former Blues stopper Cech is baffled by the Stamford Bridge club’s lack of form under manager Jose Mourinho after a dominant campaign last year.
"It makes me surprised,” Cech told Tyden. “It's a team that six months ago won the league.
“Players stayed there, the coach added more to his liking. It is very hard to believe that the club is in such a state.
“I was surprised to see their suffering at the beginning of the league, but I was even more taken aback by the fact that the crisis still continues.”
Chelsea host Norwich City in the league on Saturday aiming to avoid a fourth successive league defeat.
