PHOTOS: Meet The Top 3 Brothers In Football Who Play For Different Countries

Although they hail from the same country by birth, these footballers chose to play for different countries due to several prevailing circumstances.

Here are the top 3 brothers who do not play for the same country after the cut...


3. Alcantara Brothers 

Thiago and Rafinha Alcantara were signed by Barcelona as young boys. They were held in high regard, but it is Thiago, the older brother, who has been more successful.

Both started their youth international careers with Spain, but only Thiago rooted for the La Roja. Rafinha decided to follow in the footsteps of his father, Mazinho, by choosing Brazil.

Thiago currently plays for Bayern Munich while his brother for Barcelona.


2. The Pogba Brothers 

The flamboyant trio, Paul, Mathias and Florentin Pogba are Guinean. Paul, the youngest brother, was born in France.
Paul Pogba made his senior debut with Manchester United but Sir Alex Ferguson was not convinced. Mathias, Paul and Florentin Pogba Paul went on to prove him wrong.

He recently landed the No 10 shirt at Juventus. His brother, Mathias, plays in the Scottish Premiership with Patrick Thistle. Florentin plays for Saint-Etienne in Ligue 1.

1. The Boateng brothers

Half-brothers Jermoe and Kevin-Prince Boateng grew up in Berlin as the sons of an African immigrant.


They both stared out at Hertha BSC II. Kevin-Prince had a fantastic three-year spell at AC Milan, whereas Jerome has been playing for Bayern Munich since 2011.

He has racked up 15 appearances with Ghana, scoring 2 goals. Jerome, on the other hand, has been playing for Germany since 2009. He went on top win the World Cup last summer.
