Diaby offered West Brom deal, confirms Pulis

Really feel bad for him, injury hasn't allowed him to enjoy his career, hope he stays fit this coming season. West Brom manager Tony Pulis has confirmed that Abou Diaby has been offered a contract and is confident the midfielder’s chances of playing a full season will be helped by the club’s medical team.

The 29-year-old was released by Arsenal earlier this summer having played only two first-team games in the last two years.

Diaby has undergone a medical with West Brom, although reports in France have claimed that Marseille are also in talks with the midfielder.

"Diaby came in, he had his medical yesterday. We've made him an offer and we shall see,” said Pulis.

"The big thing with Abou is getting him fit and having the confidence from the medical team to do that.

"He is a top player and I mean he is a top, top player. We've had a look and we think there are things he can do to improve his chances of playing 30 Premier League games and we're confident we can help him do that.

"Whether he accepts that and the ethos of the football club we'll wait and see."
