Tottenham overcame their League Cup final heartbreak with a convincing 3-2 win over Swansea City on Wednesday.
The
game, however, was marred by Bafetimbi Gomis's collapse after just
seven minutes, the striker appearing to faint near the halfway line
following Tottenham's opening goal.
Nacer Chadli gave Spurs an
early lead, before the game was haulted to allow Gomes to receive
treatment. Ki equalised soon after the restart, finishing from a tight
angle after the hosts failed to clear a free kick.
Garry Monk
rejigged his formation for the second half, but to little avail as Ryan
Mason and Andros Townsend soon put the hosts two goals ahead, the first a
smart finish from inside the area before the winger ran the length of
the pitch before firing high into the oppositite corner.
Gylfi
Sigurdsson added a late consolation to set up a nervy final few minutes
but Spurs held on for a much-needed win to boost their top-four hopes.
