Thegoalmac can reveal that Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone has hinted he could quit the club in the near future after heaping praise on Paris Saint-Germain's project.
Personally, it will be sad to see this guy go, because of the massive competition he brought to La Liga, making the league not to be all about Real Madrid and Barcelona. But if he eventually leaves for a bigger club, I would say he deserves it too. Read what he said after the cut.
I'm a spontaneous guy, and spontaneous people are notoriously
impatient. I can't stay for 10 years at the same club," the Argentinean
told French TV programme Telefoot.
The 44-year-old has already managed six teams since beginning his
coaching career at Racing in 2006 and spoke highly of the progress made
by big-spending PSG.
He said: "PSG's project keeps improving. They are constructing a
great team with renowned players. But you have to find players that are
conscious of the objective of the club, which is the Champions League."
Simeone, a midfielder during his playing days, also revealed he is a
big admirer of France and Juventus star Paul Pogba and believes he could
walk into any side in Europe.
The former Lazio and Inter player added: "I adore [Juventus
midfielder] Paul Pogba. He's young, tough, tall and strong in the play. A
player so strong can help any team."
Simeone went on to outline the intensity of his passion for the game
and gave an insight into the work ethic that has been key to
Atleti's success under his reign.
He said: "If a bomb explodes near the stadium, I won't even hear it.
Because football is my life. We have a line of work that doesn't change.
We hurt ourselves in training to hurt ourselves in game."
He added: "I'm very clear in my life. When someone is noble, he's noble. When somebody is a moron, he's a moron."
