Simeone went on to outline the intensity of his passion for the game and gave an insight into the work ethic that has been key to Atleti's success under his reign.
He said: "If a bomb explodes near the stadium, I won't even hear it. Because football is my life. We have a line of work that doesn't change. We hurt ourselves in training to hurt ourselves in game."
He added: "I'm very clear in my life. When someone is noble, he's noble. When somebody is a moron, he's a moron."
