APOEL 0-4 Barcelona: Mesmerising Messi's right foot hat-trick breaks Raul's record

Thegoalmac can reveal that a right footed hat-trick from Lionel Messi smashed the all-time Champions League goalscoring record in Barcelona's 4-0 win at APOEL on Tuesday night.

Congratulations to the King of goals Messi for setting yet another record. Interestingly Messi actually scored all three goals with his right foot. Unbelievably mind bugling.

Luis Suarez opened the scoring in Cyprus with his first strike for the Catalans since his summer switch from Liverpool but the night belonged to his fellow South American attacker.

Messi doubled Barca's advantage seven minutes before the break, the Argentine deflecting home a shot from team-mate Rafinha for his 72nd Champions League goal, thus moving him one clear of Real Madrid icon Raul.

The four-time Ballon d'Or winner made it 3-0 just before the hour mark with a dinked finish before completing his hat-trick - his second in three days following his Liga treble against Sevilla on Saturday - in the dying minutes to put the seal on another record-breaking night for the diminutive No.10.
