Thegoalmac can reveal that Glen Johnson dangerous diving header goal was decisive as Liverpool eked out a tight 1-0 victory over Stoke City at Anfield.
It was their first victory in six games as Brendan Rodgers' role continues to come under scrutiny.
Neither
side mustered a shot on target in a dour first half, but Jordan
Henderson went close shortly after the break as the hosts stepped up
their efforts.
That did not last long, however, and Bojan hit the
post for Stoke just after the hour mark. Lucas, Rickie Lambert and Joe
Allen all went close as Brendan Rodgers' men responded.
The
Potters went close again, but this time Mame Diouf's shot was charged
down on the line, and down the other end Johnson put his head in where
the boots fly to give his side victory.
Lambert's header came back off the crossbar and the England right-back was on hand to nod past Asmir Begovic.
But the visitors should have taken a point, only for Bojan and Ryan Shawcross to miss golden opportunities at the death.
