Thegoalmac can reveal that Besnik Hasi believes Anderlecht deserved more than one point from their two Champions League clashes with Arsenal.
The Belgian side suffered a heartbreaking 2-1 in Brussels two weeks
ago, after conceding twice in the dying minutes, but came from three
goals down to draw 3-3 at the Emirates on Tuesday to deny the hosts a
place in the knockout stages for the time being.
A point keeps Anderlecht's slim hopes of qualifying from Group D
alive yet Hasi feels they should now be in a much better position after
giving an excellent account of themselves in their double-header with
Arsene Wenger's men.
"In these two games against Arsenal we deserve more than just one point," the Anderlecht coach told reporters.
"We come from a small competition, but I am honoured to coach this team.
"At 3-0 you either say the game is over and let them score the fourth or fifth or you make changes.
"They tried to score a fourth and at 3-2 you see Arsenal began to have doubts and we made tactical changes.
"Maybe Arsenal wanted to have fun with their public. Maybe they
thought they were untouchable at that moment and they wanted to go on
and score more goals, I don't know."
Anderlecht need to win their remaining two games, against Galatasaray
and Borussia Dortmund, if they are to stand a chance of progressing to
the knockout stages, but Arsenal just need a point to join BVB in the
last 16.
